Dr. Marjan Firouznia Joins AIDA Data Hub
2026-09-03
AIDA Data Hub welcomes Dr. Marjan Firouznia to a new AI research support role. Marjan is a Senior Research Engineer at CMIV, Linköping University, where she develops advanced AI methods for medical imaging and precision health.
Her research integrates computer vision, chaos and fractal analysis, AI/ML techniques, and geometrical methods, now applied to cardiac imaging and foundation‑model development.
Her current work focuses on building large multi‑centre cardiac CT foundation models designed to improve analysis of atrial‑fibrillation patients, support early detection of heart remodelling, and quantify cardiometabolic risk.
This includes developing foundation‑model based and probabilistic/prompt‑guided tools for improving multi‑model segmentation, enabling more reliable and efficient refinement of cardiac structures across diverse datasets and scanners.
Marjan also contributes to the development of federated learning systems for multi‑site implant‑safety text, ensuring that AI solutions remain accurate, reproducible, and privacy‑preserving across hospitals using different languages and documentation standards.
Marjan will support researchers in developing reliable and clinically relevant AI solutions.
